Connected with Christ
|
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. -Mark 10:45 NKJV
|
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
-Romans 12:1 NKJV |
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. -Ephesians 5:2 NKJV |
Experiencing Christ to the fullest means we must also share in His sacrifice. He is King, yet He serves us daily and eternally as our Mediator and Savior. As you seek to connect in fellowship with Jesus, seek also to walk in His ways. We do this in our families, friendships and in the local body of Christ by allowing Him to use our talents and time to reach out and bless others. In the local church are many opportunities for you to give in sacrificial love to others. Please look over this list of ministry opportunities and prayerfully seek the Lord's guidance, asking Him to show you where you might best be used as a blessing to others. When you know where the Lord would have you serve, please contact us at:

Hospitality & Welcome
Do you enjoy making others smile, surprising
someone with an unexpected treat, gift or
words of encouragement, or simply going
out of your way to be sure a guest feels
cared for and welcomed? If so, blessing
opportunities such as these abound within
our Hospitality & Welcoming Ministry.

Music
Psalm 95:1 proclaims "Oh come, let us sing
to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock
of our salvation." NKJV If the Lord has blessed
you with musical talents of any kind and you'd
like to give that blessing back to the Lord in
worship music, please let us know!

Visitation
In Matthew 25: 38-40, Jesus teaches that
we are to care for strangers, the sick and
those in prison. He tells us for as much as
we do for them, we also do for Him. Our
visitation team can always use a new smile
and warm heart. Please let us know
of your availability.

Plum House
Renovation continues on the Plum House,
another generous gift from God. The house
has been gutted, rewired, newly sided and
roofed, new windows, etc. We are now entering
the final stages of finishing, which includes
hanging drywall, cabinets, painting, landscaping,
etc. Most of the work has been, and continues
to be, done by volunteers who've generously
given of their time, talents and treasures.
However, there is always a need for more help.
Our goal is to finish the house and list it for sale
by 2012. If you have experience in working on
home renovation projects or simply desire to
work alongside fellow Christians, please consider
joining us on this project. Proceeds from the sale
of the Plum House will go towards the construction
of our new church building at Lake Drive.

Children's Ministry
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come
to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is
the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 19:14. Children
are precious to Christ. In the church, they are
a special blessing. As Christians, we are
called to show the children the way to Christ.
Therefore, we are to do much in the local
body for children and workers are often too
few for this very important ministry. If Christ
has laid a burden upon your heart for
children, prayerfully consider helping us
lead the children to Him.

Teen Life
The world is filled with excitement and endless
possibilities, a fact of reality not missed by
most teens. In their zeal and zest for life, today's
teens need mature, loving Christians to come
alongside them as they begin probing and
exploring what the world has to offer.

Grounds Stewardship
God has generously provided the Lake Drive
property to one day be the home of our growing
church family. Careful stewardship of His gift is
necessary today. Do you enjoy lawn care and
landscaping? Or, are you one who loves getting
out there after a heavy snow to clear a safe path
for others? Do you enjoy neither, but desire to
soak your brow and dirty your hands for the Lord?
If so, this ministry of stewardship just may be the
place for you. Please contact us today. |

Community Outreach
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15
The world is our mission field, at home and
to the furthest reaches. Therefore, opportunitites
abound in this special service for Christ which is
a call-to-service for all believers. Contact us today
to connect with the work of Christ within our
local community.

Church Planting
The most effective way to evangelize our
community is to launch more New Testament,
Biblical churches. Church planting is about
sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, training
up more followers in the truth of God's Word
and helping them to live out a Christ-like life.
To accomplish this, we must send fourth
laborers into the harvest of the communities
around us to plant new churches. Training is
available to those who are called to this ministry.
If this calling is yours, please contact us today!

Church Set-up/Take-down
As we continue to worship weekly at Delmont
Fire Hall, we always need hands to help
in the weekly effort of setting-up and taking
down our church items. Are you an early
riser? Are you eager to begin your Sunday
morning fellowship with believers and would
like to do so earlier than 10 a.m.? Do you have
strong organizational skills or do you simply
desire to expand your worship of the Lord by
helping in the behind-the-scenes efforts of
Sunday morning? If church set-up/take-down
seems a good fit for you, please contact us or
just come early or plan to leave a little later and
don't be shy about diving in alongside those
already serving in this important ministry. |
